round 13 10 20150621 2093094056

After 13 rounds Heatherton United become lucky to claim the top spot in State League 2 SE with a 2-1 away win at Seaford. Other results went our way and for the first time this season Heatherton is leading a group of eight teams, all with realistic chances of promotion to State League 1.

The trip to Seaford was never going to be easy. In last three matches 19 goals were scored between these two teams: one win for Heatherton (6-1) and two draws (3 all). Visiting supporters still vividly remember last year’s clash, when Heatherton led 3-0 at half time and had an extra player, but managed to come with one point only after Seaford equilised in last minute.

Line up: St. Ancevski, K. Curan, Y. Kusdian, M. Mariole, E. Becirevic, S. Zijai, D. Pavlich, D. Mujcic, A. Zahirovic, A. Sanad, A. Bayeh.

Bench: S. Ahmetovic, M. Klehic, S. Ancevski, J. Malender.

After a cautious start Heatherton took a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute when Aziz Bayeh converted a penalty kick.

Seaford replied immediately but Kemo Curan was quick to clear a dangerous cross from the six yard box.

Just before the break Heatherton players had another appeal for penalty after one of Seaford defenders blocked a shot on goal by his arm, but the referee waved play on.

In second half Seaford pushed forward, searching for an equaliser, while Heatherton relied on the counter-attack. That approach paid off in 75th min, when Ali Sanad doubled the lead after a timely pass from Mathieu Mariole on the left wing.

round 13 21 20150621 1621567571

The host managed to score a goal in the 88th minute from a goal mouth scramble, after a linesman indicated the ball cross the line.

In the remaining minutes, Seaford players were unable to stage another comeback and Heatherton took all 3 points.

Heatherton reserves have won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Ulfet Eminic.
